SENECA TRIBUNE, Seneca, Kansas, Thursday, November 30, 1893. Page 3.
"Curt" Butler, the first clerk, at the Gilford, it is said, "has gone and done it"-committed suicide-and was buried at Pawnee City last Sunday. The poor fellow "went moshed" on some descendant from Adam's rib that didn't reciprocate, and it "turned his head." "Curt" didn't know, and it is too late to tell him now, that there are between two and three million more girls than boys in the world, and that just about that many are "dying" to- well to say it. Every time a man commits suicide under such circumstances, we just put it down that another sensible girl has been found.
