Born in Lancaster, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada the son of Alexander Urquhart & Nancy Anne McRae-Urquhart. Grandson of Revolutionary War Loyalist William Urquhart U.E.. Husband to Amelia Jeroy-Urquhart. Father to 16 children including Margeret M. Urquhart-Sands, John Urquhart, Franklin Robert Urquhart, Anna Elizabeth Urquhart-Falkner, Sofa Urquhart, Mary Jane Urquhart-McDonald, Lucy Urquhart-Hefner, Martha Urquhart-Urquhart, Robert Duncan Urquhart, Adelia Urquhart-Ross, & Amelia Urquhart-Faulkner.
