Ray D. Scheehle, Sr., 86, of Township Rd. [No.] 102, Dillonvale, OH formerly of Pleasant Grove, OH died Mon., May 29, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born Aug. 5, 1919 in Scotch Ridge a son of the late Sherman and Pearl (Irwin) Scheehle.
He was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Ray was a Methodist by faith and a member of V.F.W. Post # 8848, Colerain, OH, America Legion Post #38, Martins Ferry, Pleasant Valley Sportsman Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army WW II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth A. and Donald Scheehle and a sister Mildred Cochran.
Surviving are his wife Sophia (Stopera) Scheehle, a son Ray D. Scheehle, Jr. of Martins Ferry, a daughter Sandra (John) Harr of Mt. Pleasant, OH, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wed., 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thurs., June 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Elaine Cutlip officiating.
Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Full military graveside services will be held by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W.
