I AM PUTTING THIS INFO HERE TO TRY AND CLEAR UP THE PARENTS OF MY FATHER LAWRENCE CLIFTON CRUMP B, 1883 GA. HIS SISTERS IDA L CRUMP B. 1877, AND MAUDE MAE CRUMP B 1882.
First my mother was lawrences 3rd wife. he was 30 years older than she was. They married in 1932 in dumas texas. I was the only child from this marrage born 12 years later in 1944, one day before his 61st birthday.
The story i grew up with is there mother amanda brown died when they were young. There father john thomas took the kids to live with there grand father john wesley crump. ( i recentley have oral info that amanda went with john to louisana and died there and burried in the tulip cemetery. i am not sure of this info yet. This maybe a mistake and be lawrences wifes grand parents. ).
I have a letter from a school in south carolina stating that lawrence clifton crump entered this school in feb. 1898 at age 14 by his parrent j w crump. ( john wesley )this fits the story as being grand father and guardian.
I think the kids were passed around and that is why they show up as elijah and harriets kids.
Second. elijah died in georgia. ida, maude and lawrences father is burried by ida and her husband willey f. hill in the pourch cemetery in beckham co. oklahoma. so elijah cannot be there father.
In the 1880 census elijah has a daughter ida l. b 1875. she married james looney. I have found them in each census. I have found willey f hill and ida b 1877 in each census, this shows two different idas. in the 1880 census christopher and amanda brown have a daughter ida l. born 1876-7 georgia,
