John V. Beck
__John Vernon Beck, 1629 F avenue NE, an employe of National Oats for 29 years before his retirement, and a Cedar Rapids resident 59 years, died Saturday following a short illness.
__Born Nov. 21, 1891, at Conesville, he was a veteran of World war I.
__Surviving are two sisters, Violet Morse and Rosa Pike, and a brother, Alston R. Beck, all of Minneapolis.
__Memorial services: United Church of Christ at Conesville at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. R. W. Copeland. Burial: Conesville cemetery. Friends may call at Turner chapel east until 9 p.m. Monday and the church from noon to 1:25 p.m. Tuesday. The casket will not be opened after the service.

Turner Mortuary Records indicate that John Vernon Beck died in Cedar Rapids, was the son of John Scott Beck & Lillian (Buser) Beck and the husband of Clara.
