The son of George Reno and Sophia Emma (Latimer) Loughmiller, George grew up on a farm in the Foss/Stafford area west of Clinton, OK. He attended the Stafford schools. He lost his life when the car in which he was riding was struck by a train in downtown Stafford. Others in the car survived the accident.

There is no data available on his funeral arrangements, but he was buried in the Stafford Cemetery. In addition to his parents, George was survived by his siblings: Clyde, Dorothy, Ivan, Winifred, Nina and Lora. In addition there were many other close relatives and family friends.
