Marion C. Slaybaugh, age 85, of Biglerville went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 12, 2011 at her home. She was born Friday, March 19, 1926 in Biglerville the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Taylor) McCleaf.
Marion attended Biglerville High School. She was co-founder of Sunnyhill Orchards which she and her husband operated for 25 years. She was also formerly employed by the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot for several years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arendtsville, Order of the Eastern Star and Arendtsville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Glenn Slaybaugh, her husband of 63 years, survives her. She is also survived by a daughter, Leslie S. Taylor of Gettysburg; a son, Scott M. and wife Debra Slaybaugh of Biglerville; granddaughter Whitney M. Slaybaugh, grandson Lyle A. Slaybaugh; a sister, Tonya Taylor of Aspers, and two brothers: Robert McCleaf of Biglerville and Richard McCleaf of Aspers. Her brother, William McCleaf preceded her in death.
Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Memorial services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38 N. High Street, Arendtsville, at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 15 with Reverend Robert Blezard officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service. Private interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Slaybaugh, Lyle Slaybaugh and Chris Grettler.
