Jessie married Augustus "Albert" Lee Shoffner on 16 August 1916 in Carthage, Moore County, North Carolina, and they had THREE children that are known of: Augustus Lee Shoffner, Jr. (1918-1854), Jessie Shoffner (1921-?), & James Shoffner (1925-2011).

Jessie passed away on 5 March 1985 in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina, and was buried there at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
