James H. Davies, 71, of Peats Corners, Central Square, died Friday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital.

A native of Syracuse, Mr. Davies lived at Peats Corners 47 yrs. He retired as a foreman after 27 years with Carrier Corp. Mr. Davies also designed and handcrafted clocks which were sold at area craft fairs.

Mr Davies was a former member of the Peats Corners Methodist Church and a member of the Elmcrest Monday Golf League. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Pauline A. Dowding; six sons, James of Austin, TX, Frederick of Palm Beach, FL, William of Pulaski, Lawrence of Fulton, George and Richard both of Peats Corners, NY; a daughter, Theresa Knight of Clay; a sister Helen Russell of Baldwinsville: 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Traub Funeral Home, 110 N. Main St. Burial will be in Upson Corners Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
