Dr. Fraser Macintosh Rose was the son of Rev John Rose and Barbara Anderson Johnstone. He was born in Malagawatch NS, and went with his family when they returned to Scotland in 1909.
Before becoming a medical student at Edinburgh University in 1919, Dr. Rose served in the Mountain Artillery, part of the Royal Garrison Artillery, in the Balkans in World War 1.
Honored by the Queen in recognition of his outstanding services to the medical profession Dr. Fraser M. Rose, a native of Cape Breton, was recently made an officer of the Order of the British Empire.
