BOUNTIFUL - Ruth Child Rogers, 67, died March 9, 1982, at a Provo hospital.
Born March 16, 1914, in Clinton, Utah, to Myron Barber and Caroline Carlsen Child. She married Vern Shaw Rogers February 27, 1935, in the Logan Temple. He died Sept. 23, 1981. Reared and educated in Clinton; attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. Member, Orchard 2nd LDS Ward. Served both as a member of the ward Relief Society presidency, and as president, Spiritual Living teacher, Primary teacher, Sunday School teacher. She has worked as an office manager for the State of Utah, Water Resources Division, at the State Capitol.
Survivors, One son, Dr. Vern C Rogers, Bountiful, two daughters, Mrs. M. David (Dixie) Merrill, Alta Loma, Calif., Mrs. Larry E. (Geraldine) Wood, Provo; 16 grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, Myron B. Child, Clinton, Mrs Hazel Toone, Morgan, Mrs Neta Hogan, Logan, Mark Child, Arkansas.
She lovedlife, and she loved people. She was always cheerful, and she dedicated her life as a helpmate, wife, mother, and homemaker.
Funeral services Saturday, 11 a.m., Orchard 2nd Ward, 3707 So. 800 West, Bountiful. Friends may call at the Russon Brothers Mortuary Friday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at the church, Saturday, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery, directed by Rogers Mortuary of Tremonton.
