He was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Newburg, a son of the late Ernest and Juanita Poling Lee.
He retired in 1994 from Colsolidation Coal Co. and was a member of UMWA in Fairmont. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha Whitlock Lee, of Newburg; two sons, Chris Lee and Tony Lee, and friend, Betsy Goodwin, all of Newburg; two daughters and a spouse, Tina M. and Larry McKinney, of Kingwood, and Tammy Rinard, of Winchester, Va.; two sisters and spouses, Glenna and Bill Feathers, of Newburg, and Patricia and Charles Cochran, of Philippi; and two grandchildren, Brian Trenum, of Winchester, Va. and Nicole McKinney, of Kingwood.
