Former Resident Died in West

Henry S. (Stanhope) Cloninger, 87 years old, passed away April 11th, 1948 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Lester Jackson of Everett, Washington, following a lengthy illness.

The deceased was born at Zion, MO, on December 17, 1861. He went to Montana in 1916 where he lived for 32 years. He moved to the home of his daughter just two months prior to his death.

He was converted and joined the Twelve Mile Baptist Church in August 1877, and in June 1895, he was ordained as a deacon in that church, where he remained a member until death.

He was preceded in death on 03 Feb 1935,at Missoula, Montana, by his wife, Cynthia McKinney *Cloninger, daughter of Adaniram Buckner McKinney and Sarah Ann Glaves *McKinney Lewallen. She was born 29 Dec 1861 on Dry Creek, Twelvemile Twp, Madison Co, MO, USA. They were married 05 Jan 1881 in Madison Co, MO, USA.

He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lester Jackson and Mrs. Faye Johnson of Everett, Wash., Mrs. William Tremper and Eugene Cloninger of Missoula, Montana, Lester of Bozeman, Mont., Lee and Oscar of St Louis, MO, Joe of Leasburg, MO., and George F. of Zion, MO.; also 30 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday Afternoon, April 14th, at 3 o'clock at the Purdy & Walters Funeral Home, in Everett. The Rev. Elroy Shikles of the First Baptist Church officiated. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Everett, Washington.
