Charles Lee Gossard, 72, died at his home, 121 McComas St., on Saturday morning after a long illness. He was born in Pinesburg and was a son of the late James E. and Mary S. Ridenour Gossard, and had lived in Hagerstown most of his life.

He was a member of St. Paul's EUB Church, Men's Bible Class of the church and Western Enterprise Fire Company. He had worked as a machinist for Interwoven Stockings Mill for 30 years, retirings in 1965.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Catherine Richardson Gossard; daughters, Mrs. Jane E. Bond and Mrs. Helen M. Kelley, both of Hagerstown; sons, Charles E., Wilbur I., and Dennis Lee Gossard, all of Hagerstown; brothers; David W., and James E. Gossard, both of Hagerstown; sister, Mrs. Mary Cliagan, Hagcrstown; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The body was removed to the Rouzer Funeral Home where friends may call on Monday evening from 7 to 9.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home by the Rev. Lester M. Kauffman on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
