Henry Purdy was born March 25, 1810, in Manchester, Vermont. He was married to Matilda Norton, August 7, 1852. He came to Illinois in the early 50's locating on a farm one mile north of the present village of Palatine where he resided until he retired from active life, since which time he has made his home with his children. He died May 24, 1904, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. A. Keyes, of this village, aged 89 years and two months.
He leaves three daughters and one son to mourn his loss. His wife died 22 years ago. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, Thursday afternoon, Rev. Pale of Park Ridge officiating.
