Jackie Helen Chrisman Land, 58, of Athens, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at her home.
A native and lifelong resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Ada Inez Hicks Chrisman. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Torbett; one brother, Carson "Bud" Chrisman; and one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Wilson. A graduate of McMinn Central High School, she was a former employee of Denso Industries and was a member of Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Mike Land of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Chad Wilson of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law, Carson "Bud" and Kelly Land of Athens; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Hazel Mullins and Joan and Carver Rhinehardt, all of Englewood, and Rita and Teddy Anderson of Tellico Plains; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Wanda Chrisman of Athens, and Gab and Sharon Chrisman, Dag and Gwen Chrisman, Randall and Marcella Chrisman and Perry and Mary Chrisman, all of Englewood; one sister-in-law, Twila Chrisman of Englewood; one brother-in-law, Bill Torbett of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Holly Beth Wilson and Emily Taylor Wilson; one great-granddaughter, Lillie Mae Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church, located on Slack Road in Athens. The Rev. Bill Hicks will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
