Jesse J. Baxley of Rt. 1, retired farmer, died Thursday at his residence.
The funeral will be 11 a. m. Saturday at the Old Johnsonville Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery ditected by Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Baxley was born at Hemingway, a son of the late Daniel Franklin and Livinia Ann B. Baxley. He was an Army Veteran of World War I and a member of the Old Johnsonville Church.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Carlisle Chandler of Hemingway and Mrs. William Schwiers, Jr. of Greenville; two sons, James E. Baxley and Bennett Ray Baxley, both of Hemingway; a sister, Mrs. Nolie McDaniel of John's Island; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Source: Charleston News & Courier, January 18, 1975.
