Sarah, daughter of Horatio Horace Burns II and Mary M. Phillips Burns, was born on October 16, 1828 in Rutherford County, TN. She had three brothers and two sisters. Sarah married James Berryman Beasley on April 8, 1847. To this union were born seven children. James took his family to Indiana during the Civil War and worked as a blacksmith and wheelwright. They stayed there until the war ended and returned to his farm in Marshall County, TN. Sarah died November 18, 1873 in Marshall County and is buried in the Beasley Family Cemetery.
