Death came in a Centralia hospital Tuesday for Jesse Hayden Chappell, 77, a Centralia resident for 43 years. He was born Sept. 23, 1878, at Hannibal, Mo. and was a retired railroad employe
The family home is at 1009 West Plum street.
Surviving the deceased are four sons, Fred J. Chappell, Centralia; J. Earl, Independence, Mo.; Cleo C. Chappell, Washougal; and Donald D. Chappell in the U.S. Army; three daughters, Mrs. Albert Snelson, Tacoma and Miss Darleen Chappell and Mrs. Charles Hood, Puyallu; a brother, James Henry Chappell, Exelsior Springs, Mo.; sister, Mrs. Ada B. Anderson, Lafayette, Ore.; and 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain View under direction of Newell-Hoerling's, with the Rev. Eugene Lowry officiating.
