POSITIVE MATURITY REMEMBERS HAROLD DEASON

Positive Maturity's Aging Workers Are Reliable Employees (AWARE) program in Shelby County is mourning the loss of their VISTA Volunteer, Harold Deason, who passed on December 8, 2011.

Former owner of Incahoots Restaurant, Harold, age 66, was a resident of Helena and an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Helena. He and his wife Claudia recently worked with the Kiwanis Club to build a local park that was accessible to all children.

Harold was a champion for Positive Maturity's AWARE program and a warrior in helping adults over the age of 50 find employment. In 2011, Harold assisted over 400 Shelby County adults in finding new employment. He remained close to his job-seeking clients by coaching them, encouraging them in their search, and passing on his enthusiasm. Harold also worked as a volunteer and partnered with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Shelby County (another Positive Maturity program).

Harold is survived by his wife, Claudia; two sons, Dennis Deason of Chelsea and Keith Deason (Embree) of Birmingham; and four grandchildren.
