He was born May 7, 1929, in Lubbock, where he attended school and married Patsy Ruth Webb on Sept. 19, 1974. She died June 9, 2001. He was self-employed as a truck driver before his retirement. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Lee of Lubbock; three daughters, Kay Miller of Guthrie, Debbie Whitley of Clovis, N.M., and Pamela Key of Shallowater; a brother, Elmer of Granbury; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
