Dora Mae Allison, 70, Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2002, in the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Mrs. Allison was born June 13, 1932 in Oronogo, Jasper County, Missouri, to William L. Steele and Elva Gibson Steele. She was a dental assistant to Dr. Tom Hilton and Dr. Keith Hulfeld, retiring in 1991.
Dora Mae married William Robert Allison on May 9, 1948 in Columbus, Kansas. Mr. Allison survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, William E. Allison, Springfield, Mo., and Gary L. Allison, Carthage, Mo.; a brother, John A. Steele, Carthage, Mo.; four sisters, Nancy Jean Eden, Medford, Ore., Doris Clines, Lowell, Ark., Viola Hoover, Carthage, Mo. and Helen R. Poindexter, Las Vegas, Nev.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at Park Cemetry, Carthage, Jasper County, Mo. Dr. Keith Miles will officiate. Visitation will be from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday August 26, 2002, at the Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo. The casket will be closed. Pallbearers were Wayne Allison, Jeff Allison, David Howard, Steve Howard, Doug Poindexter and Ed Peterson.
Memorials are suggested to the Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., in care of Knell Mortuary.
