Mrs. Sallie Powell, daughter of C. A. B. Varnarsdall, died on Monday evening, Oct 22, at her home in this place, after a short illness, aged 23 years. Her funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon and Rev. Whydman preached a very interesting sermon to a large congregation of relatives and friends. Her remains were buried in the Hopewell cemetery. She leaves a husband and two children. She was greatly beloved by all who knew her.
