Camille Amber (Weare) Harte, 54 of Prineville, Oregon passed away July 29, 2011. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Crook County Library in the Broughton Room.

She was born Camille Horst in Bismarck, North Dakota, then she was adopted at age 9 by Dr. Clifford Weare and his wife Phyllis in Burns, Oregon. As a young girl Camille loved to swim, play tennis and volleyball as well as run on the Cross County Track Team in high school. After receiving her GED, Camille moved to San Diego, CA then to Hawaii. Returning to Burns, Camille worked at the Pine Room as a server and a card dealer. In 1990, Camille moved to Illinois where she learned to drive commercial trucks. From there Camille made her way to Great Falls, Montana where she met her husband Greg while driving over the road for Earl Foss Trucking. They married in August of 1993 and a year later moved back to the northwest where she drove tanker trucks for Washington Trucking in Vancouver, WA. In 2009, Camille and Greg moved to Prineville, OR where she enjoyed her passion for horses, joining the Prineville Ridge Riders and Central Oregon Wild Horse Coalition. Camille's love of animals also led her to volunteer at the Humane Society of the Ochocos.

Camille loved God, her husband and her animals. She had a kind and giving heart and is greatly missed by those of us fortunate to know and love her.

Camille is survived by her husband Greg Harte, mother Phyllis Weare, sister Sally Edney-Weare and brothers Bill, John, Tom and Mike Weare.

Contributions can be made in Camille's name to the Humane Society of the Ochocos and the Central Oregon Wild Horse Coalition.

Whispering Pines Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
