Dora Ann Funderburk | Visit Guest Book

Dora Ann Funderburk
Dora Ann Funderburk, 75, of Charlotte died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Wilora Lake Nursing Center.
A native of Union County, Mrs. Funderburk was born to the late George Bruce Long and Faye Austin Long Lathan on July 21, 1936. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the Livingston Sunday School Class. Mrs. Funderburk was known for her card ministry and sent out about 300 to 400 cards a month. She was very close to her sisters and her grandchildren. Mrs. Funderburk was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clifton Funderburk; sisters, Betty Jo Castle and Lillian Bruce Walter.
Mrs. Funderburk is survived by her children, Robert C. Funderburk, II and wife Robin of Wilmington, Bruce Funderburk and wife Shelley of Stanfield; sisters, Elizabeth Taylor of Monroe, Brenda Gaddy of Fairview, Vivian Belk of Fairview; brother-in-law, James O. Funderburk of Charlotte; grandchildren, Lyndsey and Alex Funderburk and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11:00a.m., Monday, December 12 at Memorial United Methodist Church, 4012 Central Avenue, Charlotte. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday evening at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte.
Memorials may be made to Wilora Lake Lodge, 6001 Wilora Lake Road, Charlotte, NC 28212, Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 E. Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or to Memorial United Methodist Church, 4012 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
