Funeral services for Alphonse Emil Steffek, 69, of Needville, are scheduled 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Needville. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. A rosary service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Davis Chapel in Rosenberg.

Mr. Steffek was born Oct. 29, 1922 in Needville. He died Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Needville and served in the Army Air Corps. He retired in 1981 from Diamond Shamrock after 29 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Steffek of Needville; a daughter, Allison Lenz of Houston; two sons, David Steffek of Houston and Douglas Steffek of Deer Park; a brother, Linhart Steffek of Stafford; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Davis Funeral Home in Needville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Needville.
