William Franklin Fannon was born in Hamilton County, Illinois, Oct 1, 1858 and died at Steilacoom, Monday, April 29, 1907
He was married in 1883 to Miss Fanny Terie and came West in 1886, settling in Kelso shortly after. In December, 1898, Mrs. Fannon departed this life, leaving three children; Hattie, Oron and Marie.
Mr. Fannon was married again, in December 1901, to Mrs. May Dunn, and lived a highly respected life until, in July, 1905, he was found to be entirely bereft of reason.
His insanity was caused by a blow on the back of the head, sustained while clearing new streets in Kelso about six years ago. It caused a total blindness for a time and another blow received while moving Strain's store nearly two years ago rendered him helpless.
Deceased was a member of Kelso Lodge, W.O.W. The funeral took place this afternoon at the Christian church. Interment in the Catlin cemetery.
Besides the bereaved widow and children, deceased leaves two brothers, Thos. T., of Kelso and J. R. Fannon, of Calistoga, Cal.
The entire community joins in extending heartfelt sympathy to the relatives in their hour of bereavement.
