Services were at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 1987, in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa. The Rev. Dick Krambeck officiated. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation was after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1987, with a Masonic service by Quarry Lodge # 404 AF&AM at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Babb was born on Aug 26, 1902 to George and Florence Wheeler Babb in Wendell, Idaho, and moved to Payette, Idaho as a youth. He graduated from the Payette High School in 1919. He was employed by the Bradshaw Honey Company at Wendell, Idaho. On June 4, 1930, he married Anastacia Boger at Dillon, Beaverhead County, Montana.
He operated his own bee business in Montana and Idaho. Coming to Iowa in 1942, where he continued in the business.
He Managed the Iowa State Liquor store in Mapleton, Iowa for more than 20 years. Retiring in 1974.
His wife died on March 15, 1984
He was a fifty-year mamber of the Masonic Lodge of Mapleton, Iowa
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William Meeves of Bennington, Nebraska; two sons, Regenald of Fremont, Nebraska and George of Sioux City, Iowa, a sister, Mrs Inez Randolph of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; two great-grand children.
Pallbearers were Joe Jessen, Lester Theobald, William Hagerdon, Fred Kuhlmann, Dale Robnicke and Leonard Powell.
