Mrs. Mary E. Hanks wife of William S. Hanks passed away yesterday at the family resident, 1023 Pennsylvania Street after an illness of 3 months. Mrs. Hanks has lived in Muncie for the past twelve years having formerly lived in Fairview and Portland. She was a member of the United Brethren Church and Royal Neighbors Lodge.
Mrs. Hanks is survived by her husband, William Hanks; four daughters, Mrs. Herman Roush from Saratoga, Mrs. H. E. Rambo from Lima, Ohio, Mrs. Ruth Buschor, Mrs. Elsworth both from Muncie; one son, Ezra Hanks from Muncie; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Starr from Dunkirk, Mrs. Nevada Warnock from Portland; two brothers, W. I. Journey from Portland, J. E. Journey from Muncie and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. Whitely M.E. Church with Rev. John C. Roberts, pastor of Normal City U.B. Church, officiating followed by internment in Beech Grove Cemetery.
