Cora Ann McKnight, age 56, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 1:41 p.m. at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born July 29, 1955, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, the son of Robert Edward and Barbara E. (Walton) Garner. Cora was a homemaker.
On September 18, 1992 she married John McKnight in Miami, Oklahoma.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, John McKnight; her mother, Barbara Garner, both of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Delmar E. Clevenger and his wife Janelle, of Diamond, David G. Clevenger and his girlfriend, Glenna Ledford, of Joplin; one stepson, John McKnight; one stepdaughter, Lori Kent, both of Carthage; five siblings, Beryel Manuel, Bill Garner, Leona Mieswinkel, Rose Perriman, Flora Smith, and Linda Anderson; grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Her father, siblings, Kenny Walters, Leroy Blake, Emery Garner, Robert Garner, Albert Garner, Leon Garner, Lela Collins, Goldie Schnake, and Myrtle Jarrett, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2011, in the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
