Fern Delight Jones, age 90, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Miller, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She was born on May 21, 1921, in Howell County, Missouri, the daughter of Frank Albert and Tyma Jane (Briles) Eldringhoff. Fern owned and operated Ferns Beauty Shop Mt. Vernon and had also a shop in Miller. On July 8, 1964, she married William Thomas "Tommy" Jones at the Wilderness Church in Silver Dollar City. He preceded her in death September 8, 1994.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister, Nyla Barnes of Mt. Vernon; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Mary Eldringhoff of Pomona, Missouri.
Her parents, four brothers and sisters, and a stepson preceded her in death.
A funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with burial in the Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Manor Activity Fund in care of the funeral home.
