Recitation of the holy rosary for Mary Whilimina Kempen Devlaeminck will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Sunset Chapel of the Donelson, Sewell and Mathews Mortuary, with the Rev. Don Durand of St. Matthew Catholic Church officiating.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro.
She was born in Dundas, Wisconsin, on Jan. 18, 1912, and died Oct. 20, 1985, at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, at the age of 73.
Mary was the daughter of Henry and Hannah (School) Kempen. Mary Whilimina Kempen was married on June 13, 1940, in Verboort to Marcel A. Devlaeminck.
Mrs. Devlaeminck moved to Verboort from Wisconsin when she was 6 years old.
She was a mother and homemaker until she went to work at the Birds Eye cannery in Hillsboro, where she worked as a belt worker for 15 years.
She and her husband moved to Hillsboro in 1961, and had lived in
Hillsboro since then. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic
Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. The family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice.
Surviving are her husband, Marcel A. Devlaeminck of Hillsboro; five
daughters, Bernadetta Devlaeminck and Janet Smith, both of Hillsboro, Carolyn Cabrera of Aloha, Karen Hicks of Wood Bridge, VA., and Edith Marlatt of Concord, Calif.; two sons, Terry Devlaeminck of Forest Grove and Jerome Devlaeminck of South
Bend, IN.; a brother, Frank Kempen of Forest Grove; and 13 grand-
children.
