Young Mother Dies After Brief Illness

Mrs. Kenneth Brown Passed Away Saturday Afternoon After Illness of Only a Few Days With Scarlet Fever; Private Services Held At Forest Lawn Cemetery Monday Afternoon.

The death of Mrs. Kenneth Brown, young mother of three small sons, whose unexpected death came Saturday afternoon after a brief illness, brought sorrow and mourning to her many relatives and friends in the community where the family has made their home. Mrs. Brown had been ill only a few days, having contracted scarlet fever from her young sons, all of whom had had the disease, and whom she cared for faithfully during their illness.

Mrs. Brown passed away at her farm home, six miles east of Northport, where the family had lived for the past several years. She had observed her twenty-sixth birthday just one month previous to her death.

She was born November 14, 1914, at Bridgeport, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cook. Most of her life was spent in the community and she attended local schools. She was married to Kenneth Brown, May 6, 1936, at Ogallala. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth, and three sons, Wayne, Darryl and Leonard; her mother, Mrs. Con Fuhrer and father, Joe Cook, both of Bridgeport.

Private funeral services were held at Forest Lawn cemetery west of Bridgeport, Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock with Rev. Howard Osborne in charge. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Canaday Funeral home of Bridgeport.
