Ray and his sister Florence died 5 days apart from each other from diphtheria. They had taken a bus trip to visit family in Chambersburg and they suspect that is when they were exposed to the virus. Their 2 brothers Curvin (my grandpa) & Richard also got the virus but recovered and were fine.
