Oma Lu Bridges was born on October 14, 1910 in Dabney, Arkansas as the third of four children born to John Milton Bridges and Rose Ann Burger Bridges (see links below). Oma married Theodore Roosevelt "Theo" Collie (see link below) on February 19, 1927 in Conway County, Arkansas. Theo's Aunt Alice Garrison had wed Oma's half-brother Rollen Bridges in 1917. Theo and Oma settled in the Ozarks of northwest Arkansas, living primarily in Searcy County but also residing in Van Buren and Marion counties, at many points living with Theo's parents.
Theo and Oma's union did not produce any children. According to family history, Oma miscarried once, but the couple did not pursue children after that loss.
Theo was called to serve during World War II and worked as a cook in the Army (he was never deployed overseas). The couple was married for 72 years until Theo's passing in 2000. Oma survived him about two and a half years, passing away on July 4, 2002 in Morrilton, Arkansas. She was 91.
Oma was interred at her husband's side in what is now known as Freck Cemetery in Marion County, where Theo's parents, maternal grandparents and brother Herschel had all previously been laid to rest.
