Clarence H. Jackson
Age 85, of Newark, DE, formerly of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 5, 2011 surrounded by his family.
Clarence was born in Indiana County, PA and served his country proudly in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Later, he worked as a communication engineer for the DuPont Company until his retirement. He was a member of the B.P. of Elks Lodge in Florida where he served as a former Exalted Ruler. His wife, Elva (Hanley) Jackson, predeceased him in 2004. He was also predeceased by his son, David Jackson.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Jackson of Bear, Sharon Smith and her husband, George, of Newark, and Karen Warden of Elkton, MD; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Michael.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9 at 1:30 pm at MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where friends are invited to visitation after 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 600 Reed Road #104, Broomall, PA 19008.
