She was born in Columbus on June 30, 1925, to the late Murle and Mary Garrett, and was a graduate of Central High School. She retired from Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ott Ballinger; siblings, Ralph Garrett and Mary Ellen Wellman; and grandson, Michael F. Ballinger.
She is survived by her children, Janice Ballinger, Charles (Kathleen) Ballinger, and Jill (Larry) Sali; grandchildren, Erin and Erik Ballinger, and Larry and Rita Sali; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ballinger and Andrew Graf; several nieces and nephews; good friends and neighbors, including the Coontz and Houf families; and beloved cat, Tiki.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Union Cemetery.
