"Jacob Marak was born July 13, 1844 in Mistek, Moravia He died Sept. 17, 1935, at Everest. He was married to Magdalena Diebold on Oct. 3, 1871 at All Saints Church, Marak.
"Jacob was a druggest, born in Moravia, Austria in 1844 (EVEREST ENTERPRISE PICTORIAL 1897). He came to America in 1857 and located in Brown County in what is known as Marak settlement, three and one-half miles northwest of Everest. He was educated in German and Bohemian schools; was a farmer for 38 years, and then went into the mercantile business, and for the past 12 years, has carried on the drug business in Everest.
"He was married to Magdelene Diebold, of this country, 25 years ago, and they have three living children. He is a Democrat. Mr. Marak did not attend school one day in this country and is a successful business man at the present time, which speaks well for his foreign schooling. Mr. Marak is the head of the firm of J. Marak & Co. which is doing a thriving business."

Day 17, Sept. A.D. 1935, Jacob Marak Sr. died. He was the son of Francis and Barbara Marak, age 91, from the location of Everest. He was buried day 19 Sept. A.D. 1935 in All Saints Cemetery. Adnotation: Good Christian. Rev. Taton
