She was born May 23, 1908 in Keetley, Utah to William W. and Millie White Woodard. She married Orvell Q. Jackson on May 16, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1986.She was an active member of the Provo Nineteenth Ward. She has served as Relief Society and Primary president during her life. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and spent many days at the Provo Senior's Center making quilts for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked for Sears for much of her life and served recently at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center as a volunteer Pink Lady.
Survived by three sons and one daughter: Ray (Maria) Jackson, Boston, Mass.; Roy (Carolin) Jackson, Salem; Leon (Tina) Jackson, American Fork; Joann (Grant) Jones, Rigby, Idaho; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and two sons, DeVar Woodard Jackson and an infant son. Additional survivors include two brothers, one sister: Carl Woodard, Fruitland; Willis (Bill) Woodard, Provo; Hazel Willey, Demming, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, in the Provo Nineteenth Ward Chapel at 667 North 600 East, Provo. Friends may call at the church Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
