Born "Rio Verne Sankey", he robbed banks in the United States in Vayland and Winner South Dakota and in Regina Saskatchewan Canada. He kidnapped Haskell Bohn of St. Paul MN and also kidnapped Charles Boettcher II of Denver Colorado. He committed suicide in jail in Sioux Falls in 1934. He was buried in the Mount Pleasant cemetery.
