Ronald Darryl Greer, Sr., 68, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at Duke Raleigh Hospital, Raleigh, NC.
He was born in Wilmington, NC on December 19, 1942 a son of the late Clifton Paul Greer and Letha Mae Morgan Greer.
Mr. Greer enjoyed hunting and playing pool and considered the billiards community to be his "second family."
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Floyd Greer; children, Donna Jean Braxton and Ronald Darryl Greer, Jr. and his wife Maria, all of Rocky Point, and Phillip Allen Greer of Wilmington; two granddaughters who were raised by Mr. And Mrs. Greer, Bridget Greer and Ashley Greer; also six additional grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Clifton Elliott Greer and wife Sheila of TX and a sister, Gerry Goehrig and husband Larry of FL. His brother, James Edwin Greer preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, and at other times at their home.
