My Dad was born in Peekskill, New York to Martha (Herrick) and Thomas Edward Travis, Sr.

He had two siblings William Patrick, and Eileen (Travis) Marallo.

Mom and Dad were married Sept. 13, 1952 and divorced in the 70's

Dad was a hard working and always worked at providing the best for us growing up.

I spent the last few months of Dad's life close to him helping with his care. He suffered from COPD for many years. In the end Leukemia took him along with several underlying medical conditions.

Dad meet Elaine Shanley in the 80's and they have lived together until a week before his death. I had to move him to Texas so I could care as my step Mom health was going down hill in the months of dealing with his illness. Dad lasted only a week when he arrived at the house.

Our Greyhound took to be his guardian and would not leave his side. Hospice was amazed at how good Dad looked when he first made Texas and were really surprised at how fast he went down hill. I have to say so was I.

We were told by the doctors 2-3 weeks he lasted 4. I was so glad to be able to spend that time with him and care for him to the very end.
