JOHN R. MOBLEY DIES ON MONDAY

John R. Mobley, 429 Kentucky Street, Franklin, died Monday afternoon, at 5 o'clock in the Welcome Nursing Home where he had been a patient for four months.

Funeral services have been arranged for 2 o'clock on Thursday afternoon and will be in the Vandiver-Parsley Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral home any time after 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.

The son of the late Henry and Sina Fraker Mobley, Mr. Mobley was born March 6, 1887, in Brown County where he attended the schools. On Oct. 12, 1952, he married Elma Norton.

FARM BUREAU For over 20 years he was employed at Chapman-Price Field Mills in Indianapolis and during World War II, was the with the Bridgeport Brass there. In 1943, he moved from Long Acre to Hancock county where he farmed and was later associated with the Farm Bureau there as a mill worker and cabinet maker. On Oct. 1, 1957, when ill health forced his retirement, he moved to Franklin, where he spent the remainder of his life. Mr. Mobley was a member of the Church of the First Born at Elwood.

The widow; a son by previous marriage, Phillip Robert Mobley, of Indianapolis; two stepsons, Ronald Norton, of Bargersville; Larry Norton,of Franklin; grandchildren, and great grandchildren survive. Also remaining are four sisters, Mrs. Lou Kemp of Franklin; Mrs.Elizabeth Githens, of Columbus; Mrs. Gayle Voges, of Whitehouse, Ohio; Mrs. Wilma Prefry, of Indianapolis; and two brothers, James A. Mobley and George Mobley, of Paragon. A son, Henry Edgar Mobley, by a previous marriage died in infancy and two sisters preceded him in death.

Illness Fatal to Former City Man


John R. Mobley, 80 years, a resident of Franklin, who resided in Greenfield from 1943-1967, died at 5 p.m. Monday in the Welcome Nursing Home following a period of ill health. While a resident of Greenfield, Mr. Mobley associated with the Farm Bureau Lumber Cooperative as a mill worker and cabinet maker. When his health failed he moved to Franklin to live.

Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Elma M. Mobley; one son, Phillip Robert Mobley, of Indianapolis, several grandchildren and great-granchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from theVandiver-Parsley Funeral Home at Franklin with Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery at Franklin. Friends may call at the
funeral home.
