SUMTER - Charles Clifford Beck, age 70, died at Tuomey Hospital last night, following an illness of several weeks.
He was a member of Woodmen of the World, a Pythian and Mason. Mr. Beck retired from active business some years ago, after engaging successfully in the mercantile business for several years.
He is survived by his widow, Lucille Rogers Housend Beck; and four children by a former marriage, C. C. Beck Jr. of Lillian, Ala., G. A. Beck of Galveston, Tex., K. E. Beck of Sumter and Mrs. Basil Bruce of Hamlet, N.C.; and 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the residence at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, followed by interment in the Sumter Cemetery.
