William lived another 21 years, mostly in Maywood with Son Theodore and his wife Earlay. They both died suddenly, he in 1930 at 53 and she in 1931 at 38, breaking up the family and sending William to live with another in St. Cloud, where he passed away in 1935 at the age of 91.
