Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Wilkinson Funeral Home, Concord, with Pastor Lisa Anderson officiating. Burial is in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born in Cabarrus County on February 2, 1913 to the late John F. and Sarah Jane Furr Bost, she was a homemaker and member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Ballard, Sr.
Survivors include sons, R. Edward Ballard and wife, Betsy of Harrisburg and David M. Ballard, Jr. and wife, Judi of Kannapolis; sisters, Miss Shelby Bost of Concord; grandchildren, Sandy Rigney of Danville, VA, Lisa Page of Chesapeake, VA, Teresa Reese of Gold Hill, NC, Kathy Weisel of Concord, NC, Susan Swanger of Arden, NC, Robert Ballard, Jr. of Rural Hall, NC, Lee David Ballard of Montgomery Village, MD, Cyndi Amador of San Diego, CA and Greg Ballard of San Diego, CA; and 19 great-grandchildren.
