"Mrs. Simon Theesfeld passed away suddenly at her home early Tuesday morning, September 30, 1952 at the age of 81 years 10 months and 20 days. Although she had not been feeling well for the past two weeks, her death was unexpected at this time.
Wilhemine, daughter of Talka Ihnen Tammen and William Hermann Folkerts, was born on November 1, 1870 in Oldenberg, Germany. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith here. She also received her education in the schools of Oldenberg.
At the age of 16 she with two of her girl friends came to the United States and made their new home in Illinois.
On March 18, 1897, she and Simon Theesfeld were united in marriage at Onarga, Illinois. They later moved to Monson, Iowa, Washington, Texas, South Dakota and in 1919 came to Windom where they farmed until the time of Mr. Theesfeld's death several years ago.
Mrs. Theesfeld was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church and a charter member of the Ladies' Aid. For some time she has been an honorary member.
Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Theesfeld all of whom survive her.
Mrs. Theesfeld was greatly interested in her home, family and church. She was a kindly person and enjoyed her friends and neighbors."

Ancestry.com has her birthplace as Brake, Ostfriesland, Germany.
