OBITUARY OF MRS. NANCY A. MITCHELL

Departed this life, after an illness of three or four hours, on Thursday
evening, the 6th inst., Mrs. Nancy A. Mitchell, consort of Eld. John A.
Mitchell of this town. Although the summons came unexpectedly, yet it found our sister ready to go and meet her savior. She illustrated in her life as wife and mother all that was necessary as a true and exemplary christian. Her husband testifies that she made her home an earthly paradise for him and his five children she has left behind to mourn their irreparable loss.

Mrs. Mitchell, nee Miss N.A. Alexander, was married to J.A. Mitchell on July 29th, 1865. She professed religion two years previous to marriage and was baptized into the fellowship of Concord church in Cobb county, by Elder W.T. Tweedell, now of Bowdon, Ga.

As a neighbor she was highly esteemed by all who knew her and especially as a nurse at the bedside of the sick did the true qualities of her christian womanhood appear best. She was ready to lose her own rest and comfort to promote the comfort of the afflicted around her.

Not only will her disconsolate husband and children miss her, but the many recipients of her loving ministrations will also miss the kind and gentle one who tenderly ministered to their wants in the hour of need. She only sleeps.

"Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep,
from which none ever wakes to weep."

She was followed to the grave by a goodly number of friends and citizens and laid away to rest in the old grave yard on Saturday morning, 9 a.m. the 8th inst. Rest in peace.
