Her gravestone reads: "THE GRAVE OF MARY, WIFE OF THOMAS WHEELER, ONE OF THE EARLY PROPRIETORS OF THE ANCIENT TOWN OF STONINGTON.

Her maiden name and exact dates of birth and death are still being researched.
No evidence as to her maiden name or dates have been found.
History of Stonington CT. by Richard A.Wheeler , pg.637 , states clearly that Thomas was one of the 9 who organized the First Congregational Church.
On June 3,1674 , Mary Wheeler , his wife was one of the partakers on their first communion service.
So she was living in 1674.

And the same dates are given by the Genealogical and Encyclopedic History of the Wheeler Family in America
by Albert Gallatin Wheeler Jr. .
