Born Feb. 24, 1927, in Victory Hill, he was the son of the late Stephen and Lily Hall Bednar.
Mr. Bednar was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Monongahela.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1409, Monongahela.
He was a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Holzaphfel Bednar; two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Cindy) Taylor and Mrs. Dan (Sheeri) Taddeo, both of Victory Hill; and three grandchildren.
